M&T Bank Donates 50 Turkeys to Support NH Food Bank’s Distribution Efforts Ahead of Thanksgiving
Manchester, N.H. – M&T Bank today donated 50 turkeys and fixings to the New Hampshire Food Bank, a program of Catholic Charities New Hampshire, to support families in need this Thanksgiving. A team of seven volunteers from M&T Bank unloaded the turkey deliveries, which were purchased from Hannaford Supermarkets, and packaged the turkeys with fixings for distribution to local families.
“On behalf of the New Hampshire Food Bank, I would like to thank M&T Bank for this generous donation,” said Thomas Blonski, President and CEO, Catholic Charities New Hampshire. “The holidays are a difficult time of year for many families and donations such as these allow us to support our neighbors in need as we strive toward eliminating hunger in the Granite State.”
New Hampshire Food Bank staff were joined on site for the turkey delivery by community leaders, including Manchester Mayor Jay Ruais, M&T Bank Regional President Tim Wade and Boys and Girls Club of Manchester CEO Diane Fitzpatrick.
“The holiday season is an especially difficult time for families who struggle to put food on the table. We’re honored to be able to partner with the New Hampshire Food Bank to fight food insecurity and make the holidays a little brighter for those in need,” said Tim Wade, New Hampshire Regional President, M&T Bank. “We look forward to continuing our support of their critical work in the future.”
According to Feeding America’s annual Map the Meal Gap study released in May 2024, an estimated 9.7% of all New Hampshire residents, including approximately 13.4% of New Hampshire children, were food insecure in 2022. This donation from M&T Bank enables the New Hampshire Food Bank to distribute more Thanksgiving meals to families around the state in response to local need.
In 2023, the New Hampshire Food Bank distributed more than 16 million pounds of food to its more than 400 partner agencies statewide. For more information or to donate, visit www.nhfoodbank.org.
