FRUIT (100% juice or no sugar added):
- Canned tropical fruits (oranges, grapefruits, pineapples, mangoes, etc.)
- Canned apples, canned pears
- Canned stone fruits (apricots, peaches, cherries)
- Applesauce
WHOLE GRAINS (First ingredient whole grain, no sugar added):
- Brown or wild rice
- Quinoa
- Barley or farro
- Rolled oats
- Whole wheat pasta
- Whole wheat crackers
VEGETABLES (Low sodium or no salt added, no sugar added):
- Canned red/orange: peppers, carrots, beets, tomatoes, pumpkin
- Canned mushrooms
- Canned asparagus, green beans, peas, artichokes, spinach
- Canned corn, potatoes
PROTEIN (Low or no salt added, no sugar added):
- Dried or canned beans (chickpeas, black beans, kidney beans, etc.)
- Dried or canned lentils
- Canned tuna or other canned fish
- Canned chicken
- Peanut and other nut butters
- Mixed nuts
OTHER FOODS (Low or no sodium):
- Soup or broths (low sodium)
- Herbs and spices
- Sparkling water or seltzer
- Shelf-stable milk OR shelf-stable non-dairy milk
- 100% fruit juice
We encourage retail-sized food donations (i.e. the sizes of items you’d pick up at your local grocery store for your family). Donations are distributed to individuals and families, so bulk items, such as very large bags of rice, beans, etc., are difficult to distribute.
