Periodically, Feeding America will host a Hunger Study to quantify the impact that food banks across the country have on their communities. In the spring of 2009, the New Hampshire Food Bank participated in one such study by interviewing hundreds of clients who visited food pantries, soup kitchens, and other agencies throughout the state. Below is a table showing the total number of different individuals who receive food from the Food Bank through our registered agencies as well as the percentage of individuals and families who fall into different categories. These numbers are compared to the previous Hunger Study which was performed in 2006:

The New Hampshire Food Bank was just one of the participants in this study that illustrates how greatly food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters rely on food banks across the entire country, not just here in the Granite State.
