Help children receive healthy food all summer long!
Did you know?
Hampshire, 1 in 5 children are at risk of going hungry ─ they will spend
their summers worrying about when they’ll get their next meal instead
of having fun with their friends. Many Granite State families rely on
free and reduced breakfast and lunch during the school year. With
school about to break for the summer months, these children and their
families are faced with having to provide these added meals to their
already limited budgets. Steady nutrition and a healthy diet are
critical to growing bodies and developing minds. Children who are food
insecure are at risk of poor physical development and socialization and
have a greater chance of dropping out of school.
35% of the members of households served by the New Hampshire Food Bank are children under the age of 18.
